I always wanted some of these collectibles but my parents say that they are too expensive and impractical to buy but I really like one because first of all, I love cars and I would be happy to try some of these. Could you help me to find the shops here at the Philippines wich has the lowest price but good quality cars? Plllleeeeeaaaaasssssssssseeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!

I do not know about hobby shops in the Philippines, but almost all manufactures ship world wide. I do know that the rc hobby is very popular their, because I see results from many races held their each year. There are many entry level nitro powered rc vehicles that are very reasonably priced. Duratrax has two or three great entry level nitro trucks.

What is it with these cars. They are so expensive. I would like to get him one but not spend more then $150 or so. I would like an off/on road vehicle that's a smart buy. I have looked on EBAY and online stores. Styles & prices vary widely. Is there something I should be looking for specifically? Should I buy used or definitely new?

I changed my mind down below…be a cool parent but remember only if you can afford to do so with this hobby…

In my opinion I would wait till he is older and you should buy a new car…these cars are a very expensive hobby…so if you want to keep your hobby in running condition I would try to find a local store so when you need parts for the car you can pick them up…

Don't get me wrong I think every kidd deserves a car like this and if you can afford the hobby, I say go for it!!!

don't forget you need to also buy a remote control, batteries, and battery charger for the car…

i have found a few cars and i need help deciding what to get

actually you should look into what will be best suited for your area, meaning do you live in an area with lots of streets or pavement, or do you live in an area with more grass/dirt. Either way there are a ton of choices. in my experience i get more fun out of an off road buggy/truck you can beat the snot out of them and they still keep going as where an on road is generally more fragile and more prone to breaking. I have raced off road professionally as well as dirt oval sprint but i have more fun just beating around in the dirt

I am just geting into this and I am look for some aswers because mu brother(10) wants to get 1 4 his birthday so please help me out.

of course you can, i suggest taking him to the hobby shop in your area, and talking with the employees there, also check out www.beatyourtruck.com it has tons of information about everytype of rc car/truck so you can help narrow your search,

as far as what i would recommend,

the Traxxas T-Maxx 2.5 is a good beginner truck, or any of the traxxas 2.5 line, the 3.3 line is good too, but might be a little much for someone new to nitro,

take you time to learn about the truck, running and tuning the engine and everything else you can, because you can ruin your truck quickly, a few minutes of your time can save you big bucks on a new engine

and remember, have fun!!! thats the most important part

and as far as age goes, my 3 year old son plays with my electric truck (Losi mini T) when ever he can
